The warm temperatures forecast for this weekend are no excuse to hide indoors.
There are plenty of activities taking place outside – including a treasure hunt, gondola rides and kayaking trips – as well as several indoor events for those who prefer to stay cool.
Here are our picks:
Kart Fight Qatar
Red Bull is hosting its first “kart fight” for amateur racers across the country, starting tomorrow (June 23).
The goal for participants is simple: Record the fastest overall time in a 10-minute qualifying race at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Center.
Following the qualifiers, the top 20 racers will face off in a national final that’s scheduled for July 1.
The competitions run nightly from 9:30pm to 11:30pm.
While registration for the event is now closed, residents are invited to come out and watch the action.
For more information, check out the event’s website.
Sunset to Moonrise Kayaking
Discover Arabia and Eco-Adventures are hosting three different kayaking tours on Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25.
They include a sunset-to-moonrise trip from 4pm to 8pm; a potluck iftar between 6pm and 10pm; and a full-moon kayaking tour and BBQ suhoor from 9pm to 11pm.
A BBQ set-up will be provided throughout.
The group will meet at Al Meera in Al Thakira before travelling to the desert and mangrove reserves. Participants will be provided with life jackets and paddling lessons.
Ticket costs vary. They are QR200 (without a BBQ set-up) or QR250 (with BBQ set-up) for adults. The fee for children under the age of 12 is QR150, while children under the age of 6 can participate for QR100.

Every Thursday and Friday, after the taraweeh prayer, participants can pick up a map and join the hunt for free.
Various treasure boxes are placed around Katara. One winning box, containing a QR2,500 prize, is set out each day.
New maps will be distributed each week. The hunts go from 9:30pm to 11:30pm.
Gondola boat rides at Katara
Other events hosted by Katara include a gondola boat ride from Beach 12.
The boats run daily until Thursday, July 7. The first boat sets off at 7pm and the last trip departs at 11:55pm.
Ticket prices for the boats vary depending on the length of the trip.
