The FIFA World Cup trophy has arrived in Qatar to a VIP reception at Doha International Airport.
The trophy is making its first appearance here because Qatar has been awarded hosting rights for the 2022 World Cup.
It will be busy during its three-day visit, touring the QFA League today, visiting Darb Al Saai on Friday (from 4:30pm to 6pm) and meeting the public at a fan zone event on Dec. 14.
Fans can start lining up at the Aspire Zone around 10am. The event is free, but visitors will have to get tickets to view the trophy, and can line up to be photographed with it.
Also going on at the fan zone – football games on PlayStation consoles, a “shoot and score” challenge and cheering from Fuelco, the World Cup mascot.
Do you plan to meet the Cup this weekend? Thoughts?
