Everything must go at Souq Najada as closure deadline nears
Shopkeepers are holding clearance sales at Souq Najada, selling items at hugely discounted rates ahead of a deadline for the closure of the shopping complex on April 1, the Peninsula newspaper reports.
Store owners were served with notices on February 28 that the “mobile souq” as its sometimes referred to, would be shutting down.Â
It isn’t yet clear what will be built in its place, but given the extensive Msheireb redevelopment project next door and the fact that utilities are being turned off, demolition of the property appears likely.
