Education Council announces unified summer holiday schedule for all Qatar schools
For the first time, the 200,000 students enrolled in Qatar’s public and private schools will have the same summer holiday schedule – from June 26 to Sept. 9 – the Supreme Education Council has said.
All schools have been asked to adhere to the unified schedule, which comes on the heels of complaints from parents about difficulties associated with the variations in school holidays, the SEC added.
The announcement comes as students return to school following the ten-day Eid al-Adha holidays. But it is unclear whether the mid-term vacations of Qatar’s 358 schools will adhere to the same schedule.Â
The Peninsula reports:
The mid-term holidays will begin on February 10 and last until February 21, Al Sharq reported yesterday…
Independent schools have a two-week mid-term holidays in February, while several Asian community school have month-long winter holidays in December.
