Cricket lovers who ‘hijack’ empty parking lots irk Qatar drivers
Fed up with fly balls and hijacked parking spaces, some Qatar residents say the enthusiastic cricket players who set up impromptu games across Doha need to cool it down.
Critics say the players, mostly teenagers who gather to play in the evening and on weekends near busy roads, also face the danger of being hit by oncoming cars.
But cricket fans counter by saying they have nowhere else to play.
Gulf Times reports:
Some of the motorists and pedestrians have said they move through the area with a lot of difficulties when the game is played…
Nowhere it is as difficult for the motorists as in the compound behind the Gulf Cinema complex, said a motorist.
Thoughts?
