Commuters cautioned to drive carefully as fog decreases visibility

Visibility on many of Qatar’s roads this morning is low, due to foggy conditions. The Ministry of Interior is cautioning commuters to be extra-careful today, as is the Qatar Meteorology Department:

The sun will likely burn through the mist soon, but in the meantime, here are some tips for driving when visibility is low due to fog:

  • Maintain more of a distance between vehicles
  • Use your defroster and windshield wipers to clear mist from the windshield
  • Drive with fog lights (which are mounted lower on your car, below the front bumper), to minimize reflection of light.
  • Do NOT use the emergency/hazard lights, unless you are stopping suddenly on the road.
