The chairman of Christie’s International is leaving the London-based auction house to join the board of the Qatar Museums Authority, Bloomberg news reports.
Edward J. Dolman, 51, will be working as the executive director for the office of Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Christie’s said in a statement.
The news comes eight months after reports surfaced that Qatar’s emir might be interested in acquiring Christie’s. The auction house remains a private company owned by Francois Pinault, a French bilionaire.
