In a novel take on Doha landmarks, resident Sanjiban Ghosh has been capturing popular views around the city with the help of a glass of water.
Ghosh, who has lived here for four years, said he has always enjoying taking photos of different buildings around town, especially those that “showcase a blend of Islamic and European architectural design and spectacular external and internal light decorations.”
Explaining the process behind this recent water glass series, the expat told Doha News:
“Recently I was experimenting with photographing water filled glasses and how they reflect different patterns and create beautiful abstracts. These photographs were also appreciated by my friends.
Then the idea struck me – Why not use these glasses to capture the Doha landmarks in a different way than the pictures we see normally on the net. I tried a few shots during the daytime to get a feel and finally decided the best time to get the most out of these compositions, is the evening time with all the lights lit brightly which will add more intensity and drama to the reflections.”
