The equipment aims to rehabilitate medical infrastructure and enable hospitals to resume previously suspended or limited services.
A high-level Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) delegation arrived at Damascus International Airport on Sunday, delivering a significant batch of medical aid as part of Qatar’s ongoing efforts to support Syria’s health sector and strengthen the resilience of its people, institutions, and vital services.
The Qatari delegation headed by QRCS President Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, was received by Syria’s Minister of Health Dr. Musaab Nazzal Al Ali and other senior officials.
The humanitarian delivery, part of the Take Heart Syria initiative, included 12 tons of critical medical equipment transported by Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) aircraft.
“The aid shipment that arrived today, and the previous ones, are the result of fruitful cooperation between Qatar’s MOFA, Sidra Medicine, Syria’s MOH, QRCS, and SARCS. These efforts send a clear message of solidarity to Syria, helping revitalise the health care sector and strengthen the capacity of its medical institutions to meet the needs of millions of Syrians,” said QRCS President Yousef bin Ali Al Khater while emphasising the impact of Qatar’s humanitarian efforts.
Nearly 12 tons of critical medical equipment delivered by air, were complemented by three land convoys that transported 78 tons of supplies from Doha via Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

In total, 90 tons of aid valued at over QAR 45 million ($12.5 million) have been delivered to hospitals across Syria.
The shipment contains X-ray, anaesthesia, and dialysis equipment; advanced laboratory testing tools; ventilators; incubators; radiography and laser imaging systems; plasma and biological storage freezers; cardiac and neurological monitors; clinical decision support systems; stretchers; disinfection and protection tools; medical consumables; and first-aid kits.
The equipment aims to rehabilitate medical infrastructure and enable hospitals to resume previously suspended or limited services.
Since the start of the Syrian crisis in 2012, QRCS has played a central role in providing humanitarian support through its representation office in Türkiye and in coordination with local and international partners.
Syria’s Minister of Health, Dr. Musaab Nazzal Al Ali, expressed his gratitude for the shipment on behalf of the Syrian government and people, saying: “This humanitarian shipment from the State of Qatar is not merely equipment and supplies; it is a message of genuine solidarity, a new lease on life for our patients, and renewed hope for our medical professionals who continue their work despite the challenges.”

Al Khater highlighted that, over the years, QRCS has implemented projects in health, shelter, emergency relief, food security, water and sanitation, and livelihoods, totaling $160 million, benefiting over 13 million people.
The aid will be distributed across several governorates, including Al Suwayda and the Syrian coastal areas, providing essential support to public hospitals and reducing pressure on medical staff in both private and nonprofit sectors.
