Heenat Salma, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, has proudly concluded Revive: A Summer of Crafts, a cultural summer activation that engaged young people across ten youth centres in Qatar.
The initiative provided youth with the opportunity to explore Qatar’s cultural heritage through hands-on learning in traditional crafts, guided by skilled artisans.
Participants not only developed technical skills in crafts such as sadu weaving, palm weaving, Arabic calligraphy, embroidery, and natural craft-making, but also gained a deeper appreciation for creativity, community, and cultural continuity.

As part of the program, all youth centres hosted craft activations, while selected groups from Dana Girls Center visited Heenat Salma Farm.
During these visits, participants immersed themselves in the farm’s unique atmosphere and engaged in workshops that embodied the farm’s philosophy of connecting sustainable living with cultural heritage.

Rooted in Heenat Salma’s vision, the program emphasized the preservation of intangible cultural heritage by transforming it into a lived and shared experience. Youth were given the chance to directly interact with artisans, practice heritage skills, and understand their relevance in a modern context.
“Through this collaboration, we not only empowered youth but also nurtured cultural identity by reconnecting new generations with traditional crafts,” said a spokesperson for the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
“This program demonstrates how heritage can be a living source of inspiration for innovation and community growth.” spokesperson for the Ministry of Sports and Youth concluded.

This collaboration reflects the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s commitment to empowering young people through meaningful cultural initiatives, while supporting Qatar’s National Development Strategy goals of fostering identity, cultural awareness, and social responsibility.
