The memorandum sets a framework for sports media cooperation through shared expertise, joint initiatives, training, and coordinated international engagement.
Qatar’s Sport Press Committee and the Saudi Sports Media Federation have signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday in Doha.
The signing ceremony was attended by several figures from both sides, as part of the two countries’ efforts to enhance Gulf-wide cooperation in sports media.
This MoU is part of the initiatives launched by the Sports and Youth Committee, which stems from the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council.
It aims to support areas of integration and joint cooperation, strengthen institutional coordination in vital sectors, foremost among them sports media, and reflect the shared ambitions of both nations to develop this vital field.
The memorandum seeks to establish a general framework for bilateral cooperation in sports media through exchanging expertise, implementing joint initiatives, organizing training programs and workshops, and coordinating positions in relevant regional and international forums.
These efforts aim to enhance media content and boost the Gulf region’s presence on the global media stage.

Secretary-General of Qatar’s Sports Press Committee Mubarak bin Mohammed Al-Buainain said “the signing of this memorandum embodies the spirit of brotherhood and integration between media professionals in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.”
“It underscores the importance of joint efforts in developing the profession and elevating the quality of sports media content,” he added.
“We believe in empowering young professionals by equipping them with modern skills and experiences. We look forward to this memorandum becoming a practical platform to nurture a generation of sports media professionals more capable of meeting digital challenges and professional demands.”
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Sports Media Federation Jabr bin Mohammed Al-Shayeqi expressed his great satisfaction with this constructive cooperation with their Qatari counterparts.
He stated that this initiative is part of the programs arising from the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.
“Today, Doha hosts the founding moment of a strategic partnership we deeply value. Both parties aim to turn this memorandum into practical programs that benefit media professionals and the sports sector in both countries,” Al-Shayeqi said.
He affirmed that this agreement is more than just a cooperation document, but a strong pillar to enhance the presence of media professionals in major events, a model for unified Gulf institutional work, and a foundation upon which they hope to expand into broader regional and international initiatives.
According to the memorandum, regular meetings will be held between the two parties to follow up on implementation.
Specialized working groups will also be formed to activate the agreed-upon provisions, all in service of the future of Gulf and Arab sports media.
