As work continues on Qatar’s new QR200 million fleet of 17 Turkish-built coast guard vessels, a UK firm has been selected to equip the ships with radar technology.

Supplier Kelvin Hughes called Qatar’s selection of its technology “a strategic decision” as the company’s technology is also in use by the Royal Navy, which maintains a permanent naval presence in the Gulf.
