Nearly a month after we published our in-depth report into the deadly Villaggio fire, its aftermath, and the way forward for Qatar, the 57-page ebook has been approved for download via Apple iTunes and the iBookstore.

iPad users will find this version of the ebook has many integrated features including in-book video, photo galleries, a scrollable factbox and an interactive graphic.

Although the official version for Amazon Kindle is still pending, users of various e-reader devices can download optimized versions of the ebook via Smashwords.

According to Scribd, where the original PDF was published, our investigative report into the Villaggio Fire has received more that 60K embed views, has been read over 11,000 times, and the file itself has been downloaded 1,300 times.

Notably, since the book was released, a Doha court has found five of the seven defendants on trial guilty of involuntary manslaughter and has sentenced them to serve jail time. However, the defendants remain free until the appeals process is completed. We’ll update our report at that time.
