Famous French climber Alain Robert, also known as the “Human Spiderman,” will return to Qatar this week to scale the country’s tallest tower – the Torch Doha Hotel.
“I feel like a child and I finally want to open my present. I want to climb The Torch,” said Robert, who plans to climb the 300-meter building on Thursday with his bare hands – and no safety rope or harness.
A spectator area will be set up for gawkers, and the event will start at 4 p.m. Expect to see Robert with a film crew and Guinness Book of World Records officials.
This is the 50-year-old Frenchman’s second trip to Doha. In 2008, he wowed residents by scaling La Cigale Hotel in a Spiderman suit.
This week’s climb should be a cinch for Robert, whose other conquests include Chicago’s Willis Tower, New York’s Empire State Building and Dubai’s 828-meter Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower.
When:Â Thursday, April 12 at 4pm
