A half-dozen employees of Gulf Drilling International were transported to hospital and released after a fire on an onshore rig, the company’s parent firm said in a statement to the Qatar Stock Exchange.

Gulf International Services did not say when the incident occurred or where the rig was located. It said the fire started when the rig – named GDI-3 – was being prepared to be moved to another work location.
