A sandstorm sweeping over western Saudi Arabia today has prompted authorities in Jeddah to temporarily suspend all departing flights, QNA reports.

Delays are starting to appear at Hamad International Airport. This afternoon’s Saudia flight from Jeddah, scheduled to arrive at 1:10pm, was more than a half-hour behind schedule. However, Qatar Airways’ 2:25pm flight is still listed as scheduled to depart on time. Meanwhile, in Qatar, meteorologists said we can expect hot and windy conditions until tomorrow night.
