Al Jazeera is in “advanced talks” to move into London’s Shard skyscraper, the tallest tower in western Europe, Reuters reports.
The 1,017 foot-tall Shard, whose construction was almost wholly funded by Qatar, will officially become one of Europe’s tallest buildings when it is inaugurated by Qatar’s Prime Minister and the Duke of York this summer.
Citing a source close to the deal, Reuters reports:
“This is obviously related to the Qatar link. The views across London would be an amazing backdrop to its TV shows,” the source said on condition of anonymity.
