A Qatar Airways plane hit a bird as it approached Lahore’s airport yesterday before managing to land safely, according to airline website Aviation Herald.

However, the damage to the engine was apparently severe enough to keep the Airbus A330, registered as A7-AED, grounded for at least a day.
