An expat couple returning to Qatar over the weekend reportedly left their sleeping child in the backseat of the taxi they took from the airport to their home in Dafna, Mowasalat has said.

The child, a 3-year-old boy, was apparently forgotten around 11am Saturday morning when the parents rushed to pull their luggage out of the taxi and hurry into their home.

A few minutes after the car pulled away, the parents noticed that their son was missing and called the central Karwa office.

Speaking to Doha News, a Mowasalat official said the driver noticed the child after driving a few kilometers away and was on his way back when he received a call about him.

According to a report in the Peninsula, the child, whose parents are Arab expats, slept through the entire ordeal.
