Mark your calendars, all: Qatar’s public sector will close for the Eid Al Adha holiday from Thursday, Oct. 25 to Saturday, Nov. 3, Al Watan reports.
That makes for a 10-day holiday for government employees (six working days and four weekend days).
The longer-than-expected break is because Eid is expected to start on Friday, Oct. 26, so two extra weekdays will be given off in lieu of the weekend, the newspaper said.
Additionally, offices will remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 1 because it falls between two off days, the report adds.
At 10 days, Qatar has one of the longest Eid Al Adha breaks in the Gulf this year, though Saudi Arabia has 17.
Kuwait’s public sector will get five days and Bahrain six, Gulf News reports.
