Report: At $4,100 a day, Qataris top travel spenders in GCC
Khaleejis spend 260 percent more on airfare and 430 percent more on lodging than the rest of the world while traveling, a new study has found.
Of those in the Gulf, Qataris spend the most while on vacation – an average of $4,100 per day, according to a new report by the Emirates Aviation College.
Saudis come in second with average daily expenses of $3,360 and Emiratis third with an average bill of $3,280.
Arabian Business reports:
“The class of travel is also important, with 40 percent of Qataris interviewed opting for first class, and between 40 and 60 percent of all GCC nationals booking business class,” said Sunil Malhotra, senior lecturer at the Emirates Aviation College and author of the report.
No wonder business and first-class tickets are so expensive when flying out of Qatar!
