The Doha Film Institute is screening the HBO documentary “Koran by Heart” at Katara this Wednesday as a special Ramadan film.

“A coming of age story about Muslim kids in modern times,” journalist Greg Barker and his team follow participants from around the world who are journeying to Cairo to take part in the world’s preeminent Quran-recitation competition. 

The film will be on at 9:30pm at Katara Drama Theatre, Building 16. Tickets are available online for QAR 35, and DFI says proceeds will go to charity and to support Qatari youth organization.
