Citing a desire to be environmentally-friendly, Qtel is switching all of its customers over to paperless billing on Oct. 1, who will start getting their invoices online.

Those uncomfortable with e-billing can manually opt back into paper billing, but they will have to continue to do so every six months and pay QR5/bill for the service.

Customers who sign up for e-bill before Oct. 1 will be entered in a prize drawing.

To do so, SMS “EB<space>email ID<space>QID Number” (i.e. EB [email protected] 123456789) to 114, receive a verification message of the email ID supplied, and be immediately switched to the e-Bill upon confirmation.

Customers can also sign up online by selecting the e-bill option on Qtel’s website; by calling 111 and providing their Qatar ID details; or by visiting a Qtel shop.
