At least a quarter of Qtel’s mobile users may experience network disruptions over the next two months as the company works to upgrade its services, officials have announced.
Starting Saturday at midnight, Doha residents – particularly those with 2G coverage who try to use their phones indoors and in high-rise buildings – could experience more dropped calls due to loss of signal and network disruptions.
Services on mobiles equipped with 3G facilities should be less affected during the upgrade, which is estimated to take about two months, Qtel spokesman Adel al-Muttawa said.
