With this year’s edition of National Sports Day (QNSD) kicking off on Tuesday, Doha News brings you a selection of exciting things you can do during this year’s national sporting holiday.
In an effort to advocate for the importance of health and sports, the Gulf country celebrates the second Tuesday of February as National Sports Day, which falls on 14 February this year.
The day is considered a national holiday annually, and thousands of people take advantage of the mandatory day off to participate in different physical activities across the nation.
For those who are keen to keep up the Sports Day tradition, here is a list of activities you don’t want to miss!
Education City’s all-sports day
As usual, Qatar Foundation has a list of exciting sports activities that will get you moving – and all free of cost for everyone to participate.
The events will mainly be held in Oxygen Park on Tuesday, and will feature sports classes, major tournaments, several activities, and women-only classes.
Due to on-site registration, participation in the activities will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-registration via the Education City app is required for the NSD Triathlon and women-only events.
Qatar Olympic Committee
Enjoy over 20 activities at Oxygen Park as part of QOC’s drive to promote physical activity for all ages during the national holiday. From boxing to football, the events have it all.
Registrations for all the events will start at 8am at the Team Qatar Village, Oxygen Park, so make sure to arrive early to secure your spot.
TriClub Doha and Qatar Foundation are hosting a triathlon for beginners, kids, and anyone else looking for a quick race on this Qatar National Sports Day.
Get a full-body workout in one event by swimming, biking, and running at your own pace. Located in Qatar Academy Primary School, the event will kick off from 9 am to 3 pm.

Family Hope Center is organising an exclusive day of thrilling events for people of all ages, so make sure to grab your family and friends to enjoy an array of activities at Onaiza Family Park.
The events aim to secure an environment for people of all ages who are dealing with social, mental, and physical difficulties, so everyone is welcome.
Activities will kick off at 8:30 am onwards.

This year’s sports day will feature a number of sports events at Doha’s Pearl Island, including a walkathon, workouts, challenge games, kid’s activities, and more.
