Nighttime temperatures in Doha are set to plunge on Thursday, cooling down the weekend considerably, local forecasters have said.
On Twitter, the Qatar Meteorology Department said a cold wave is coming, starting on Jan. 8:

So far, night temps have been relatively high for this time of year, Steff Gaulter, senior meteorologist for Al Jazeera English, told Doha News.
But beginning Thursday night, the thermometer could fall from 19C (66F) to as low as 15C or 14C (57F). “Together with the wind, that will feel rather cool,” she added.
According to Weather.com, the week’s daytime highs will hover around 27C (80F) until Friday, when the warmest it will get is 19C (67F).
Are you enjoying the winter weather? Thoughts?
Just came back from vacation in a rather “cold” country. Doha’s weather in comparison feels spring-ish.
I’ve just came back from Amman the capital of Jordan, the weather in Doha now looks alike the summer in Amman :),,,, yesterday the temperature in Amman was 1 Celsius 🙂
Just came back from -20…I’m sweating here like the pork found in the noodles 🙂
I’m laughing so hard you’re just so funny…
I’m glad, I accept donations in shisha and carkade (not sure if that’s the spelling) at haloul 🙂
Where is the winter this year? seriously not feeling cold… !!
I just came back from being cryogenically frozen, not cold here.
Summer version in advance – I just came out of the furnace, not hot here.
“Winter is coming”.
Gone are those days when December temperatures used to be below 10 degrees Celsius in Qatar, way back in the 1990s. This gradual change is the direct impact of global warming, I suppose.
This has certainly been the warmest “winter” in my 9 years here. Not only have I not had a single heater on, I have actually had to turn an AC or two on the last month during the day. Crazy.
Im actually sweating right now 🙁
If only it’d rain
