As tunneling on the Doha Metro enters its final phases, Qatar Rail said it has recently launched a new training center for workers aimed at strengthening health and safety standards on its worksites.

The facility offers workshops on tunneling and construction inductions, working in confined spaces, first aid, risk assessment, vehicle and plant movement, working at heights, electrical safety and fire safety, Qatar Rail said in a statement. The Doha Metro is scheduled to open to passengers by the end of 2019.
