Qatar’s national parachuting team won gold at the 24th FAI World Parachuting Championship in the Netherlands, marking its first major international victory.
Qatar’s national parachuting team has secured a major international triumph, taking the gold medal at the 24th FAI World Parachuting Championship in the Netherlands.
The prestigious competition brought together top skydiving teams from around the world. Qatar finished first with 181 points, ahead of two US squads, Prison 9 and Mandatory Fun.
Representing the Qatar Air Sports Committee and the Joint Special Forces, the Qatari squad competed in the Cohesion Octagon formation skydiving category.
The gold-winning lineup included Abdullah Al Hammadi, Salem Al Sunaid, Khalifa Al Ali, Ghanem Al Kubaisi, Bilal Al Hajjaj, Abdullah Salem, Saad Al Ali, Mohammed Shams, and Saleh Mohammed Al Mohannadi.
On Instagram, team captain Abdullah Al Hammadi praised the victory, saying: “All praise to God for achieving first place in the World Championship for free parachuting held in the Netherlands. This is considered the first achievement for the Al-Tamasuk Eight team since its founding in 2010.”
“I dedicate this achievement to the people and government of Qatar. All thanks and gratitude to the leaders who played a major role in providing unlimited support,” Al Hammadi added.
“I also don’t forget my fellow players; without their hard work, we wouldn’t have achieved this.”
The victory adds another proud milestone to Qatar’s growing sports legacy and highlights its emergence as a rising force in international competition.
