Authorities in Qatar are warning residents to take precautions as severe windy and dusty conditions set in over the weekend.
According to the Qatar Meteorology Department (MET), a high pressure front over the country from tonight to Monday will cause windspeeds to increase to up to 35 knots (65km/hour), picking up dust and dropping visibility to below 2km.
In anticipation of these conditions, the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has urged the elderly and those with asthma or allergies to avoid contact with dust.

In a statement, MOPH also advised those going outdoors to wear masks, avoid rubbing their eyes to prevent infection and to seek treatment if having breathing difficulties.

According to the MET, max temps today will rise to the mid-40s and fall to the upper 30s on Saturday and Sunday due to the windy conditions.
Sea warnings are also in effect due to high waves and strong winds.
