While Qatar Airways has said it has no plans to drop its fares in response to lower oil prices, more competition and cheaper fuel are expected to lead to lower ticket prices for passengers around the world, according to an airline industry organization.

The International Air Transport Association did not forecast the amount that fares will decline in its latest report this week, but said tickets prices have fallen on average 12 percent since the start of the year.
