Dismissing reports about an alliance with British Airways’ parent company, the CEO of Qatar Airways has said it is not talking to any carrier about partnerships right now, AP reports.

Akbar Al-Baker called the potential deal, first reported by Financial Times last month following a tie-up with Emirates Airlines and Qantas, as “press rumors.”

Qantas ended a 17-year relationship with BA when it announced the new deal with Emirates, which will essentially hand over most of its flights to Europe to the UAE based airline.

Qantas will replace Singapore with Dubai as its hub for European flights from March 2013.
