Effective today, April 17, the prices of 400 medicines have been cut by up to 83 percent in an ongoing effort to standardize the cost of drugs across the GCC and avoid unofficial “importation” of medication, Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) said.
Medications for illnesses including cardiovascular, respiratory and infectious diseases are among the cheaper drugs, MOPH said in a statement in Arabic yesterday. A list of the affected medicines and their prices can be found here.
