Construction-swathed Education City is expected to see the opening of several new buildings this year and the next, including the national library and Northwestern University in Qatar, a Qatar Foundation official has said.

Also on the list of projects to open by 2013: Sidra Medical and Research Center, a new QF headquarters, its Faculty of Islamic Studies building and a new center for strategic studies, said Saad Al Muhannadi, QF’s vice president of capital projects and facilities management.
