Hundreds of people in Qatar were involved in traffic accidents yesterday morning after a thick fog blanketed the country.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior (MOI) said there were no deaths, and that more police officers had been sent to manage traffic following the incidents.
The country is once again covered in fog this morning, and the MOI has advised motorists to do the following to stay safe:
- Allow more distance between vehicles;
- Stay in your lane and avoid passing and overtaking unless you are sure it is safe;
- Don’t use high-beam lights or hazard lights, which are for emergency stopping;
- Use fog lights; and
- Don’t hesitate to pull over if the fog is too dense and visibility too low, provided you can park safely off the side of the road.
