Ministry: Only certain classes of bachelors must adhere to city residence ban
Not all single men will be banned from living in Doha once labor accommodations become illegal in residential areas, the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning has clarified.
But starting Nov. 1, bachelors who work with contracting and construction companies must be relocated from residential areas.
The Peninsula reports:
People working in neighbourhood stores such as grocery shops, restaurants, barber shops and laundries have been exempted from the decision banning labour accommodation in residential areas…
Professionals, executives and others doing white collar jobs also do not come under the purview of this decision, because it is not about regulating single workers in residential areas. A separate decision is expected in this regard, said the sources.
If it’s not about regulating the number of bachelors living near families, what is it about exactly?
