It’s going to be hot in Doha over the next few days, with temperatures expected to rise by an average of 6C to reach a high of 32C (90F), the Qatar Meteorology Department (MET) has said.
The heat will be accompanied by windy, dusty conditions, but after Friday is forecast to abate considerably, the MET added.

Over the weekend, the country will transition away from the hotter weather as clouds move in and chances of rain showers increase on Saturday.
In a statement, the MET explained that a high pressure front and northwesterly winds will contribute to the change in weather:
“Cold weather will affect the country and there will be significant drop in the temperature between the values 6 – 10 degree where the maximum temperature will be between 20 – 23C (68F to 73F) in the city of Doha and the minimum will be 12 – 15C (54F to 59F) and may be lower in some areas.”
So to sum it up, no sweaters are needed for the rest of this week, but you may want to hold on to one during the beginning of next week.
Thoughts?
Better start chopping wood to keep us warm
It was really hot in Doha yesterday – I even saw two dogs fighting over a tree.
It was really hot in Doha yesterday – apparently a dairy farmer went to check on his jerseys, and found that they’d all turned into sweaters.
When was sweater actually required in qatar
Between 20:00 and 07:00 daily from January 11-14, 2014.
June to September, inside my office common area, and in some crazy taxi driver’s car.
In many hotel bars & restaurants, all year round. 🙂
When I go to bed
Ok, I’m no fashion expert but the lady in that photo has no clue how to accessorize 😛
Btw, isn’t meteorology somewhat of a blasphemy? It’s like claiming you know what will happen…the culture and values are in danger. What next? Mixed toilets?
She’s philipino for sure and she is hiding from the sun in fear it may darken her skin .. South east Asians in general prefer to have cream white skin as opposed to tanned or sun brown skin .. It’s a social and status symbol…
Or maybe she’s jut hot exposed in the sun. No need for a racist rant.
Why do you believe it is racist? Didn’t intend for it to be..
If she was hot she would not be wearing blue jeans with a cotton suit jacket… I saw this with all the Philipino staff in my old office… They explained why… They also said darker skin means your from the south or something
Ha, shows me fashion sense – I thought that she did a very good job of matching both her shoes to her bag and her jacket. Damn it, there goes my future designing clothes for GQ.
You’re a big Jerk!
Hey Shabina, how about some consistency here? That was a personal attack. To more important issues, why was I a ‘jerk’ as you put it? I complimented her on matching her bag and her shoes. What is jerkish about that?
I’m a jerk because I think that she did a good job accessorizing? I find your opinion to be odd.
The only thing that does not matched her attire is her bag,hu.
That is a matter of opinion now, isn’t it? I think that it matches fine.
damn you!You’re a jerk!
What gave her away? The knock-off bag? Or the umbrella? When i first saw the umbrella here in broad daylight i thought: Man, these guys have some pretty posh brownish ladies around. I heard it explained to me and I must say you put it politely compared to the version I’ve received regarding skin tone “status”.
Religious believes
Usually I can follow your posts…this one makes me think someone came in while you were typing and you didn’t get the chance to finish it.
Talk to a dozen Filipinos and you think you know all already. Nothing about what you said makes sense.
You couldn’t even spell ‘Filipinos’ properly. There goes respect out the window.
Still, your logic is problematic. If I were to follow your line of thought, then why are the women here all wrapped up in black abaya even at the height of summer?
damn you!
Deleted for personal attack.
There’s some truth to that, but your tone is judgemental and too conclusive. Filipinos normally use umbrella on a hot sunny day- yes, even men- plainly because IT’S BURNING HOT; for personal comfort and health. Nothing so surprising about that. It’s normal. I don’t understand why people make such a big deal about it.
The only one making a big deal out of it is you. We were just sharing what we’ve learned. I’ve also asked my friends about it as it seemed odd. And the answer I got was: “If we get tanned we look to much like the Indians”. Exact words, I might add. If you want I can get you their numbers and they can confirm it for you. I’m about sick and tired of everyone “getting offended” and mentioning it like that constitutes an argument. (Hitchens reference).
I’m about sick and tired of everyone “getting offended” and mentioning it like that constitutes an argument. (Hitchens reference).
Amen to that.
Very true… The region i hail from has a very strange definition of beauty… According to them only a fair person is beautiful.. They don’t consider people with whitish or skin beautiful..
You’re not a fashion expert, and yet you criticize the lady in that pic. The black blazer is ok with jeans.(putting on a black blazer with rugged jeans makes the attire a “little” appealing and formal. It’s an ordinary view among fashion icons. Yellow sandal matched with blue umbrella makes it the proper combination of secondary color. Purple & yellow makes a good combination too. So if you’re telling the lady doesn’t know how to accessorize, I think you’re the one who doesn’t know.Regarding the use of umbrella, it’s a common view when you visit the Philippines. That is to protect against radiation, protect from being burned, and protect herself from male m___c here.
Calm down…jeez. If you think that’s great and stylish go for it. Allow me to think it’s flea market fashion. Maybe our ladies and the thousands of designers are just not up to speed with the trends in ind. area.
Ind. area???????
Brace yourselves, winter is coming.
Them brace yourselves, summer is coming.
Doesn’t look quite the same on a coat of arms though.
But not soon enough, I can hardly wait.
Let’s try this again since my first post disappeared..
John Snow is not Ed Stark’s love child. He is the legitimate son of late king Robert and Ed stark’s sister. They were married in secret and out of fear of the lancisters killing john snow when he was young Ed said he was his… So given the new King at Kings landing is of incest and not Roberts actual son.. The true heir to the throne is no other than John Snow… Go team snow
Here, I was thinking Jon Snow’s father was a Targaryen and hence, it made him the true heir.
He has stag and wolf blood running deep in him not dragon
If what they say about the long, lonely, boring nights on the Wall, and the tastes of the Night’s Watch are true, that’s not all he’s got running deep in him. 😉
Deleted for being crude.
C’mon let’s have a poll on that, see how representative of your audience your sense of crudeness is. What do you say?
Shall we bet on that? It should be revealed in the next book anyway.
“There were times—not many, but a few—when Jon Snow was glad he was a busterd.” George Martin.
You know nothing, John Snow
It’s JON !!!! not John. I’m running away before I get warned by Shabina for getting off topic anyway.
Since this is a weather post, I’m taking it easy. 😛
Sometime while driving on Al-Rayyan road I mutter unconsciously “Valar Morghulis! Valar Morghulis!”
Oi, you could’ve at least put a spoiler alert on that! 😉
(not that it hadn’t been worked out already)
This is the warmest “winter” in my 9 years in Doha! =(
Girls are always using umbrella to protect her skin even winters also ..
Even on a weather topic, people manage to start a fight on this forum.. lol
That’s the Doha Daze for you, wait until it gets really hot and people’s brains begin to fry! 😉
Shes wearing jacket, jeans and umbrella for sun’s protection.yes she maybe doesntt want to get dark. Not only that ,the sun’s radiation very harmful isnt it ? Genius?
