Reduced visibility on Salwa Road, in Al Khor and several others part of Qatar continued well into the morning today, thanks to a fog that doesn’t seem to want to clear away.
While many motorists had no trouble getting to work, others complained that traffic had slowed considerably because it was so hard to see:
CAUTION: Dear #Doha Tweeps the visibility is going down to less than 1000M, drive safe cc @dohanews @iloveqatar pic.twitter.com/BBstMqjuxU

So far, there have been no reported delays at Hamad International Airport due to the foggy conditions, though some flights to the US have been canceled because of an impending snowstorm there, an HIA official told Doha News this morning.
Week ahead
In a statement, the Qatar Meteorology Department forecast that fog would continue to be present in the early mornings throughout this week.
It added that temperatures will begin to rise gradually starting today, with a high of 25C (77F) expected.
A “remarkable” increase will be seen from Thursday to Saturday, with highs of up to 29C (84F) and lows of 18C (64F).
It continued:
“This is because the area is affected by the extension of the low seasonal Sudan associated with Southwesterly – Southeasterly wind light to moderate in speed, freshen offshore on Thursday where the wind will be between 12 – 20 KT offshore with some low and medium clouds on Tuesday.”
Starting Sunday, things will cool down again slightly as strong winds move in.
Were you affected by the fog this morning? Thoughts?
Didn’t stop the halfwit who sped past me doing about 150 on the hard shoulder this morning on Al Shamal road, lights flashing as he roared towards me. Guess what he was driving……
Sunny?

“under-cover” traffic police in LC or nissan patrol?
So is winter over…?
Feb end it should be over.
I dont know why peoples put the hazard light on While driving through fog. Hazard lights are meant only for sudden stopping on places not intended to stop. While driving through fog put the headlights or fog lights or both. This will let you use the hazard lights while turning left or right or when you need to stop suddenly. People have mistaken hazard light for fog lights. Please take care.
Good advice. Please also turn them off again when the fog has gone, it really isn’t fun driving behind someone with fog lights still on, nor having someone roaring up behind you flashing them
Man, you really woke up on the wrong side of the bed!
Moi? Maybe the guy tailgating did. Me, I always get up the right side and drive in the right lane.
