Saudi Arabia has announced that Thursday marked the first day of the new Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah and that Eid Al Adha will begin on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, or Nov. 6.
The Festival of the Sacrifice marks the end of the main Hajj ritual, the Day of Waqfa (Standing at Mountain of Arafat in Makkah) on the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah.
Qatar has yet to announce when it will commence holiday celebrations, but presumably will hue to the Nov. 6 date.Â

UPDATE: According to QNA, Qatar will also observe the first day of Eid on Nov. 6. Government employees are likely to go on holiday Nov. 4 till Nov. 12, and at least four days of vacation are expected for those in the private sector.
