Health screening in home countries now a must for some expats

People seeking to move to Qatar will be forced to undergo screening for infectious diseases in their home country under new plans unveiled by the Gulf emirate’s Ministry of Interior.
Expats from 11 Asian and African countries will be tested for contagious diseases at a fixed cost of $50 in a bid to curb the spread of infectious diseases in the Gulf state, the ministry said…
The new rules will apply to job seekers from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Syria and Eritrea…
Jobseekers would be screened in their home country before undergoing a second compulsory round of testing in on arrival in the Gulf state, the Ministry of Health said.
