Qatar marked one of the most important days in its history yesterday, as thousands of people flocked to the Corniche, Katara Cultural Village, the Pearl and other venues to enjoy National Day activities.
For many expats and Qataris alike, the day was about spending time with friends, family and appreciating the country we all share:
Google also gave Qatar a shoutout with a special doodle:

As usual, yesterday’s festivities were more enjoyable for those who ventured out during the daytime, while commuters out and about at night complained about huge traffic backups.

In addition to the morning parade, the Corniche was also the venue for the popular evening fireworks. And the Pearl revived its annual show, much to viewers’ delight:

For many, QND isn’t over yet, especially since tomorrow has been declared a national holiday.Â
