A fire that broke out on D Ring Road near Al Emadi Hospital this afternoon has been extinguished, but not before damaging several small shops, witnesses have said.
Reports of smoke billowing across D Ring began around 2:30pm, and part of the road was temporarily closed as Civil Defense put out the flames. The fire, which may have originated in a laundry shop, spread to two other stores at the Al Saqr Petrol Station.

According to one eyewitness, both the laundry shop and an automative detailing store were “gutted.”
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the fire occurred, but did not say whether there were any injuries or what might have caused the flames.
