Gianni Infantino will head to Qatar on Wednesday, April 20 for a progress update on the 2022 World Cup, FIFA has announced.

The new president of the world’s governing football body will first spend two days in Russia, host of the 2018 tournament. He will then meet with board members of Qatar’s World Cup organizers, as well as senior government officials, FIFA said.
