Elsewhere in Libya-Qatar relations, the two countries sign legal cooperation deal
Almost in direct contrast to the criticism Qatar has been facing from Libyan politicians, the National Transitional Council of Libya signed a memorandum of understanding with the Gulf country yesterday, agreeing to cooperation between the two states’ judicial bodies.
The Attorneys General of Qatar and Libya agreed to “exchange information with each other on laws, regulations, rules and criminal justice systems of each side as well as bilateral cooperation in the training of staff,” according to the official Qatar New Agency.
The aim of the deal is apparently for Qatar to offer its experience to the new Libyan government in fighting corruption and establishing “state of law” in the country.
