Some 10,000 people cheered on their favorite national teams during this year’s Qatar Cup football final, a nail-biter of a match that ended with El Jaish winning at the last minute after scoring a penalty kick.

The final score was Lekhwiya vs. El Jaish, 1-2.

The players faced off last night at the Jassim bin Hamad (Al Sadd) stadium. El Jaish took the lead early on, but then defending champions Lekwhiya scored a penalty shot in the 78th minute, tying the score.

But in a thrilling conclusion for fans, EL Jaish took back the lead during the last minute of the game after Moroccan forward Abderrazzaq Hamdallah sunk a penalty kick.

Besides the action on the field, highlights for attendees included a fireworks show for the victors, and the presence of Sheikh Joann as a guest of honor.

Were you at last night’s match? Thoughts?
