Court sentences workers to one year in jail for conspiring to murder colleague
Six building painters have been sentenced to one year in jail each for conspiring to kill a compatriot with whom they brewed alcohol illegally, the Peninsula reports.
The workers, all in their 20s and of Asian descent, decided to kill the victim when he said he wanted to sell liquor on his own, the newspaper states. Five of them actually took part in the murder and the sixth was not present during the crime, it adds.
It is unclear whether the men were convicted only of conspiring to kill their friend, or of actually committing murder, as, according to the medical report, the victim died of multiple stab wounds.
