FIFA has reduced former president Sepp Blatter’s eight-year suspension from football-related activities to six years, which means he’ll be allowed to attend the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Blatter was found guilty of corruption allegations in December and penalized for paying 2 million Swiss francs (US$2 million) to former Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) chief Michel Platini, whose suspension was also reduced. The development comes as FIFA prepares to elect a new president tomorrow.
