Banks to load up ATMs with new notes during Eid
In a sure sign that Qatar is one of the least crime-ridden countries in the world, local media is informing readers of banks’ plans to load up their ATMs before Eid.
The banks have all received ”sufficient quantities” of new QR1-QR100 bills from Qatar Central Bank, Al Raya reports.Â
Gulf Times translates:
Banks are very keen to load ATM machines with more amounts of money because the Eid days usually witness more demand for cash and almost 99 percent of the branches of banks remain closed for the festival holidays.
An ATM machine usually takes from QR300,000 to QR500,000. Further, it is expected that the demand for bank loans would increase, as many people prefer to spend Eid holidays abroad, the report added.
Only in Qatar, I say!
