Despite the sticky, hot weather, construction in Qatar continues full-speed ahead and diversions abound. Drivers, take note of these latest detours:
-Starting today, commuters will follow a detour on Salwa Road at the stretch between Qatar Decoration roundabout and the new signal intersection. Drivers going toward Al Asiri (Midmac) Interchange, Central Market, Mamura and Al Waab will use the signal intersection.
-Also today, Ashghal has announced the closure of Rowda Um Salal Street (between Kharatiat Street and Ezghava Street) and Talal Street (between Kharatiat Street and Shuail bin Naser Atiyya Street), for four months.
Other ongoing projects include:
-One lane of Grand Hamad Street going from the Corniche toward Airport Street will be closed at the stretch between Al Ahmed Intersection and Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Thani Street Intersection, as shown below, until Oct. 24.
-The Asiri Interchange will be closed from midnight to 5am for the next two weeks, as shown below. The closure is to fix traffic signals at the interchange and there will be a detour.
-Expect a partial closure on Gharrafa Road at the stretch extending from Ahmad bin Ali R/B to Eid bin Mohamed R/B, as shown below. The closure will be in effect until Aug. 24.
-One lane of Bin Haithem Street at the stretch between Al Farabi Street Intersection and B Ring Road will be closed as shown below until Sept. 7 to complete drainage pipeline extension work at Al Farabi Street.
