Qatar’s population increased by more than 13,000 people in the past month, bringing the total number of people in the country up to 1.77 million – the highest ever, figures recently released by the Qatar Statistics Authority show.
Over the past year, the rapidly developing country’s population has gone up by around 100,000 people, an increase of 5.6 percent from March of 2011.Â
At 458,882, or 25.87 percent, women continue to be the minority, outnumbered by men by about 3 to 1.
