Sepp Blatter, long-time FIFA president, in an interview with the Times in which he insisted the vote for who hosts the 2022 World Cup was not fixed. According to the Guardian, Blatter said Qatar was awarded hosting rights “not because of corruption but because of political pressure.”
“You cannot buy a World Cup.”
